Maybe not,I just checked my other 78a which is made in usa and it's the same as my Japan made 78a. I'm going to check my other frame stickers

From a very reliable source, just this afternoon. I was told all Z1’s were like yours sf4t7. Then when they started to build the American Kz the orientation was mostly still like the Z1’s, but depending on time of day they could have been installed after a liquid lunch or late Friday afternoon and could have been placed either way and still passed inspection. Later on the Kz1000’s there is no predictable orientation. I was told if your replacing one put the new one on the way the old is/was. If you’re placing one on a head tube without one existing then as mentioned, up thru the kz900’s they are read from the left looking at the front of the bike. For the Kz1000’s its dealers choice with one caveat place them straight!
