I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Looking good, did you hold one end in a vice etc so you could pull the loom out straight while you were wrapping ? also when you are wrapping try to roll the tape on with your thumb with a little tension on the tape (it's a bit awkward but gets good results)A small practice run. Repaired and cleaned a rear harness and wrapped it. Also fixed a headlight plug. The rear harness turned out great. The non adhesive wrap is easy to use. Just need better skills to get it smoother

Yes, I held the connector end in the vise, but trying to hold the loom with one hand and wrap with the other was awkward. Thinking if I can hold the loom somehow maybe with a strap around my waist that would free up both hands to wrap. Still working on technique.

I agree Mike. The more rational threoy was to mount it outside of the bucket. I think like you the sealed beam wouldn’t fit with it inside. It is rubber covered and would appear to be best mounted underneath facing rear. The wire seems to have a natural set that makes that mounting position likely.
Must be age and experience that make the brain think that sitting in an intersection on a 45 mph rated road at night without any turn signals is bad and could really hurt. Over the spring I added red running lights to the rear of my ‘78 1000 and upgraded to all LED’s
Wow, in my "box" of parts of things I took off my '76 LTD in the late 70's, I found this part and also couldn't figure out where it went. I thought it was the horn. Does it also serve as the horn? And if not, what does the horn look like and where does it mount?
