Hello,

First, Thanks to those that make this forum possible.

Second, Thanks to those that have helped me find fun again riding.

I am 36 and live in Wichita Ks. Married 2 kids and work for what used to be Boeing and now called Spirit Aerosystems. I just recently started riding again after being off for 13 years. I started riding when I was knee high to a grasshopper. Firts bike was a Benelli 50 from there my second bike was a 67 Bridgestone 90. At 14 I rode to school on a 58 rigid with a panhead and from there have been through a whole bunch of different makes and models from CB750's to FZR1000's. I used to have a Kosman chassied Suzuki. 8.70 @ 151mph. I've been hit by 2 cars on 2 different bikes in 2 years then I fell off the drag Bike in 1992. Thats when I sold almost everything and stopped riding. Just recently a friend of mine started riding for the first time at the age of 30. he asked for advice and I started riding again with him. I purchased the GPz750 to ride and love it. Nice bike for me and I like the upright position versus the lay down sport bikes of present. I am currently looking for a Eddie Lawson Replca but with less than 30 built in 1980 I am going to have to build my own. I do have the Wes Cooley GS1000s and a KZ1000r would look really good next to it. I would also like to find a 1999-2005 ZRX to ride and to beat on. Well thats enough about me...

Enjoy the Ride.

Hi Rich, welcome aboard!

Always good to have another representative from the Sunflower State on here. :) Like rage said, be careful. There are many licensed idiots out there today. I can't imagine riding a bike during rush hour on Kellogg or the Canal Route. Maybe that's why I waited until I moved out of Wichita before I got back into riding. :D

You're not too far from the monthly gathering at Cassoday the first Sunday of each month. I don't know whether or when I'll ever make it down there. Seems like a good time is had by those that go.

I was hit on Kellogg in 1990 just under the 235 overpass. A merging car hit the front of the bike and knocked me into the concrete barrier. I ended up going over the barrier into oncoming traffic. I was fortunate that I wasn't hit by oncoming traffic. I go to work at 4am and go home at 2pm so traffic is light. I live out by Lake Afton so my ride is mostly rural anyway. I made it to Cassoday last month. Great turnout even though the wind was in excess of 30mph on the ride home.

I'll try to get some pics up soon. The Wes Cooley is undergoing some cosmetic restoration and the GSX is soon to be the same. The Lemans is a Survivor with only 4k on it. Its been in barn storage for the past 12 years and I am now going thruough the mechanicals to ride it this year.

Welcome Richard!

Which 1980 Eddie Lawson Replica are you referring to? Do you mean the S1 model? And yeah, I really like the early GPz's also. :)

My bad, I had 1980 on the brain. I should have listed it as an 1982.

Example:

I like the pre-crotch rocket sport bikes, Really doesn't matter which....

Here are some of my bike pics. First the '82 GPZ750.
The seat was out to be recovered when pic was taken.

The '72 GT750J Lemans "Waterbuffalo"

I don't have pics of the Wes Cooley replica yet. The frame is out for powdercoat right now. The '83 GSX is being worked on so pics will be along shortly. I know I mostly have Suzuki's but its a matter of time before I have some additional KZ's in the garage.

Your 750 is very sharp. That'll turn a lot of heads. :) Simply Beautiful!

BTW, I resized the IMG tag for 550 pix otherwise the text will run off into the darker area on the right.

Thanks for the editing of the pics. I can build anything I set my mind or wallet to, but when it comes to using the computer, well its an entire different animal.
