Haven't been around much.

Over the pasty six weeks:
We buried a beloved old friend whom slmjim has known since 1974.  He died after a blessedly short battle with cancer.  RIP Jim.

We lost Piper, our much-loved Blue Merl Australian Shepherd of 14 yrs., the day before Jim's funeral.  He was a frisbee dog extraordinaire & slmjim's BuddyBuddyBuddy.  An inoperable internal tumor we knew about burst overnight, and we woke up to blood on a bathroom floor and patio floor..  He passed peacefully and painlessly that afternoon on the Vet's exam table with the two of us snuggling with him.  He leaves behind our two other Aussies, Amber and Copper.   RIP Piper.

slmjim came down with covid two weeks after Jim's funeral.  An experience definitely not recommended.  The 102.1 fever was the worst aspect.  Mostly slept for 72 hrs.  A 30 pill, five-day regimen of Paxlovid (an experimental anti-viral) may or may not have helped with recovery.  I'm mostly back to what passes for normal for me, but still no appetite.  A little little chest congestion lingers & fatigue sometimes sets in early with physical activity.  A convenient excuse not to mow the lawn...

The Lovely Z1BEBE came down with covid a week or so after slmjim.  Similar symptoms, low-grade fever, but her cough was nearly debilitating.  Paxlovid & narcotic cough medicines for her.  She's mostly back to normal but likewise, no appetite.  Still has a lingering cough sometimes.

Have to get back into the swing of things again for the upcoming 50th. anniversary of the Z1 next year.

Good Ridin'
