Z1R Rotor Clock was created by DOHC
So a while ago I tried to give away a worn out Z1R rotor that came from my dad's bike and hung on a nail in his garage for ~15 years.
kzrider.com/forum/23-for-sale/617322-fre...ar-brake-disc#864054
It was suggested that I make it into a clock. So I did.
I used the free CAD program at onshape.com to draw the cover and had a friend 3D print it. I also sketched up a mounting bracket and had sendcutsend.com laser cut it (it cost only $9). I bought the clock motor and hands, and painted the hands red with some Testors model paint I had sitting around.. Then I used my stud finder to make sure it wasn't going to crash onto the floor (it weighs about 6 lbs).
I'm pretty pleased with it.

Thanks for the kind words. I forgot to mention that the movement is continuous sweep, which is cool. No tick-tick-tick, just a smooth motion.
Anyone interested in building one for themselves? I have a spare aluminum bracket, and the hardware came in bags so I have extra. I can send the 3D file for the cover, and a link to the clock parts.

I can’t stop looking at it. It’s cool as shit, and knowing it’s part of your family’s history shoots this this over the moon. It looks so cool next to the poster

I used mine for this. They have decorative lamps which are only used for ambiance during whiskey and cigar time.
