How to identify model and production numbers? 1979 was created by Blue79SR1
Hi, I just picked up two 79 KZ650's. One is a D2 (SR) Midnight Blue. The 2nd one I have questions about. After reading the Model Recognition Manual it seem to be a C3 in Blue but there are SR-1 stickers on the sidecovers. Did not see this in the Manual.
Anyone have the answer?
Second question, where can you find the total production numbers for a certain year and model? Thanks in Advance.

Congrats!
You can put any labels you want on the side covers. The key is the VIN and weather it has spokes or mags. There are a few other differences...
As far as "production numbers", I don't think MaKawi let that info out to the public, also don't think detailed records were kept during that time. (...but I could be wrong.)
Got any PICs? What the VIN on the C3?
