Hey all! was created by chetriply
New guy to the board but not new to the bikes. Just picked up a running and riding 1980 KZ 1000 LTD for $400 U.S. and am going the cafe/street fighter route. Just wondering if anyone out there makes a cafe seat/fender combo for the KZ's.
The forum is outstanding and I'll try to provide as much help as my feeble brain can muster.
Thanks,
Ryan

I'll post some pics when I start the disassembly. I'm usually a parts whore but I'll let 'em go if someone needs them.
I agree with you on those Corbin seats. I've been in the bike business for 10 years and they haven't gotten any cheaper! I'll probably end up using one that's close on dimensions and modifying it to fit.

Welcome. I don't know about your area (where's that?) but I've seen those fiberglass cafe single seats at a few diferent swap meets and vintage races around the Southern Ontario this year. I'd love to get one but have spent too much lately. I'd have to sneak it by the warden someday.

yo i got a cafe seat off ebay for like $75. my profile pic shows it. i made the cushion for it (aluminum base layered carpet padding foam and black leather). i am actually going to start making cafe seats soon. i have some forms sculpted out of hard foam ready to turn into fiberglass/carbon fiber forms. give me some specs/ideas and maybe i can make one for ya. but if you need one right now i would buy the one ebay. it fits really well on my bike. they guy who sells them also offers seats for narrow frame bikes you just have to ask him for them. i can send you the link to his auctions if you pm me.
