Fuel tank fittal

Heya Guys,
Was wondering if an 81-82 GPz 1100 fuel tank would fit on my 1982 KZ1000J....

I may have a lead on a good used one and wondered if it was worth my effort to try and grab.

im not sure but isnt that what the ELR bikes are based upon?

I'm thinking that the J model tanks are about 2" shorter than the GPz/ELR fuel tanks. So, while the tanks may actually mate properly with the frame mounts, you may have fit issues with the seat...best to get measurements first.
