Any luggage advice in general for this model? It looks like I would have to relocate the turn signals in order to use saddlebags, and fabricate some supports also. A tank bag wouldn't be big enough for runs to the grocery store and I really don't want to take up passenger space by strapping a bag there. Any ideas?

This is what you need to look for Scott. This rack fits my KZ550 and replaces the grab bar. It looks like it could also be adapted to other KZ's with a little welding and chroming.

Has anyone used saddlebas on a Spectre? It looks like the turn signals would have to be relocated. Anyone done this? Where is a good place to mount them, or would it be better to get an aftermarket setup? I really don't like the enormous fugly brakelight either.

The 1100 I just bought had a rack/backrest on it. I removed the turn signals and mounted them to the rack so I too could have clearence for saddlebags. I agree, it looks like the bags will need a brace to keep them from rubbing the shocks. I think a piece of 1" wide flat stock bolted to the rack mount should work. I'll try and post a pic. tomorrow of the relocated lights and bags.

One thing I am considering is drilling thru the large taillight mount and bolting the turn signals to it so that it becomes an all-in-one unit. Anyone have any comments on that idea? I'd probably have to splice in about a foot or so more wire, but it would make room for saddlebags. Either that or just replace the taillight with something smaller that has turn signals attached. I don't believe turn signals are even required in Colorado.

Can I revive a thread this old? Is that even allowed?
I have a few unanswered questions here. I've relocated my taillights, but I'm not sure where to go for saddle bag supports.
I found nothing on ebay or the web for any terms I could think of searching, so I've come here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, and here's a photo for good luck.

An old K&G universal luggage rack would be the most readily available & easiest to mount. The forward shock mounts slide in & out for forward/back adjustment while the front rear of the rack is adjustable for the width. You'll probably have to fab up brackets where they connect near the original turn signals. You'll have to remove the grab bar to install one. The KG racks are listed in all sorts of ways on ebbaayy: searching for Honda luggage rack usually yields the most results. Here's one:
