I preserved my Z1 tank/tail as much as I could.  The clear, black and blue faded badly.  For the record, the gold and black stripes are paint, the white is a decal but are two different widths (8 and 10mm iirc, or something like that) and they are under the factory clear.  I saved the gold and white, the rest was too far gone.  No filler anywhere.
