Hi everyone,
I have been searching the forum for advice on fitting a kz650/kz900 duck tail fairing on a KZ 750 H ltd but haven't found a definite answer.
Has anybody done this before ?
If so, which tail was best for it and what did the installation entailed ?
Haven't found any picture of a 750 ltd with a duck tail fairing btw, if somebody have one it would be cool to see what it looks like !
Cheers

Nice ride.
I think my N is the same general frame as your H. With a couple brackets welded on, a 1000 tail would fit the frame nicely, but you'll need to modify your seat or make a new one. Alternatively, you could chop up a 1000 tail and use some creative brackets to mount it just behind the stock seat, but it won't look great (I tried this too).
I've been daydreaming about finally committing to it on my bike, I'm just not ready for the seat part of the equation.
EDIT: I do have an idea for how to mount the tail without welding the frame, since I try not to modify anything permanently, but I haven't picked up the materials yet.

Hi Ghostdive,
Thank you for taking the time to answer !
I am definitely interested in your idea, please let me know if you ever put in into practice. Does it still involve some seat change ?
I will try and think of something on my end.
As far as you know, the kz1000 fairing would be the best in terms of size to adapt on the kz750 frame, right ?

Isn't a KZ750 closer to a Z650? These also have a nice looking ducktail, maybe easier to modify things to suit.

I tend to think like you Ian, but the 650 frame might be narrower.
Would anybody have the frame dimension on a kz650 ?
I might just go ahead and buy a second hand ducktail if not too expensive, and will let you know.
Thanks for the link rstnick it gives me some ideas !
