Hi all, I've been back on my 1000J project, its running and now just the fiddly bits. This bike has had a tail light bracket mod to tuck the light into the ducktail - looks cool but the original rubber block mount is gone, and the previous owner siliconed the ducktail to the tailight lens instead. I may even do this again but would like to see if I can get a rubber mount back into the picture, it will need to sit above the tailight lens.
So, can anyone post a photo of the original setup, and maybe also measure the rubber block dimension? I think I will be making the block to suit but some detail of the original will give me a headstart. Cheers, any help is much appreciated.
Heres a photo of mine complete with silicon on the lens,  and another showing the original setup, best photo I can find.

Why don't you try some of the rubber backed one sided tape ?  That may help and be a quick and easy solution. I just bought a rubber block from Clark rubber and fashioned up all the rubber mounts on my project. I'm also going to use some single sided foam or rubber tape to stop light coming back through between the Z1R fairing I'm using and the headlight, just to seal around it. I'm in Brisbane...

Cheers, I may do that yet as a step up from the silicon job. The front mounts have copped a hammering and will be repaired to be stronger, but I'm thinking about replacing the ducktail etc with new aftermarket parts but only if I can set up a factory style mount.

Here's a tip for rubber, If you have to , for any reason join two pieces together, superglue works unreal, once you glue rubber together with superglue it's stuck for life. I have to lengthen rubber seat mounting blocks on my bike and it worked perfect...

Awesome, thank you! I had a picture in my head but that gives me what I needed to make a move on it.

I probably have one of those off my 750R1, same taillight and tailpiece. Won't be able to check until next week though...
