Paint code for my 1978 kz650 b2a RED

I learned that my bike is actually red. It's black, but after sanding I can see red underneath, and this is what PO said so it does make sense.
This guy painted exact same year exact same bike. So, I know I can get stickers here:

Paint - not sure where to get and what is the code. From video it looks like "SMS75 SELECT ORANGE" or something like this. But not sure.
Also, what is the reason to paint silver, then red, and then decals and clear? You cover silver with red, so?

I think the 1978 KZ650 red paint color was called “Luminous Burnt Red.” I don’t know how different it is from the 1977 color, but I do not believe it is an exact match. I believe the 1978 color had more an orange look to it than did the 1977 color. Ed

Ed,
What is the point of having silver basecoat? Wouldn't "red" coat just cover it?

No. The red is somewhat transparent.

Exactly! For example, the 1977 KZ650-C1 like mine painted Metallic Regal Blue used 4 different coats of paint (Special Silver Basecoat; Flake Silver Basecoat; Brigade Blue; and Clear Topcoat) to achieve the final finish. That’s quite a bit of paint. Ed

Yamaha calls it Brilliant Red. I looked for it in a single rattle can for a while, then read some more about it and realized that wasn't an option.
There is a seller on ebay who has the silver base coat, the red, and the clear, but I decided the tank looks okay as she is. I should ask if I can buy a small amount of the red for touchup.

Nope , it's not correct. I will see if I can get paint details from YouTube author (he had his color-matched).
Also, hope to get paint cheaper than this eBay price. I think local prices is like $95/qt for mixed paint. I have clear. Just need to get silver and orange/red

I have 78 KZ650 D part that is just a silver base and a candy red top coat. You can figure out the colors by wet sanding through the layers to figure out the base and candy.

I was able to buy paint directly through Kawasaki a long time age, nearly 40 years, but without doing it exactly with basecoat ect, match was nowhere close. I don't ever repaint, but added a small touring fairing and thought it could he matched. Big failure even with factory paint at least back in 1983.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
