I see that the R2 has some additional bracing along the backbone. Are there other differences between it and the other J-engined models of that time?

thanks for pointing out the failure to upload properly... will try as i go to get it done right. (was using the phone to upload so I did not see it.
as for the bracing i have a GPz1100B the one in the avatar it has the same bracing as the R2 frame i have. on another note i am trying to find out if it really is a R2 frame as it is noted in the bike papers as a 1000R2 but frame number i s DZT104-000713 but stamped as KZT10R-000713. so it is a bit of a conundrum .
no matter will be sorted as things go

Based on the ELR registry, the frame number KZT10R-000713 should be correct for a euro spec ELR.
Also, it looks like #713 would be a 1982 model, not an R2 as you mentioned.
