hi everyone I'm struggling to find a fuel tank for my kz200 scrambler project here in the uk, id rather not order from over seas because of shipping costs (fuel tank works out to more than the bike cost), I was wondering if anyone could confirm if any of the other KZ series tanks would fit? like the KZ400

I notice that they are from the same seller. It might be worth getting in touch to see if there is a tank available .Google translate is your friend. (though English is widely understood here)

This may or may not help, but '81 KZ/GPz550 tanks will fit on both KZ400s and KZ440s.

I think this is because - despite variations in displacement - those bikes do not have large variations in physical/frame size. It makes sense: if Kawasaki could standardize the bottoms of the tanks (within reason), that would make their lives easier by keeping costs down and allowing a certain level of interoperability.

In your case, if the KZ200 tank remains elusive I would recommend looking for a tank from a KZ305, 400, or 440 (in that order). The most commonly available tanks will probably be the teardrop shape from the cruisers (LTD models). If you want the non-teardrop shape you can probably find a mid-1970s KZ400 tank on the cheap, but it will almost certainly have rust inside.

Good luck!

A KZ250 / Z250 tank might be a close match. I did not see any on eb UK. Something to be aware of with a non-stock tank is the method of attachment at the rear. The 250-D uses a tank band that holds down the rear of the tank. The 400B has a tab that fits into a damper.

Here's a Z250 tank from Germany. looks kinda like a GPz fuel tank. kinda neat.

Kraftstofftank Benzintank fuel tank reservoir d'essence Kawasaki Z 250 A (X894) from a Z250-FT ???
