81 kz750e stock tank. was created by EDD88
So I'm looking for a stock tank for my kz and not sure where to look. I live in southern Illinois and I've heard of a motorcycle junk yard near st.louis but not sure it exists lol also I drive a semi so I'm home once a month or so. Was looking on here and came across a post saying the guy paid almost $500 for one and I'm hoping that's not normal.
Right now it has a Harley fat Bob split tank on it that along with the springer seat a previous owner put on it. It just don't look right and is a tad uncomfortable.

The price depends on the condition etc. $500 for a really nice or nos tank might be worth it to some guys. Most used tanks are going to need repainting, so you should be able to find one for a lot less than that. A 750E tank would be best. I think one from a 750H Ltd will bolt on, but it's about a gallon smaller. I only saw a few 750E tanks on eebbaayy. and there were a couple of seats that might be for the 750E. one had a new cover, black w red. not my cup of tea.

eebbaayy search = KZ750 tank. not much available right now. not recommending these, just posting links.
1980 Kawasaki kz750 Kz750e Fuel Tank. no low fuel switch port. ... a bit high IMHO.
750E tank. dented. rusted

Parts Wanted forum.

Create a few saved searches on ebay too and keep your radar up. Search "KZ750 tank", "Kawasaki 750 tank". Sort by "newly listed" and check back every few days. Maybe toggle "used", although sometimes a new tank with a reasonable price pops up. Beware of tanks showing rust, especially on the lower hem flanges. Rust on the outside of the tank there is a sign that there has been water in the tank which is no good.

EDIT: that silver tank that Martin linked shows sure signs of serious rust at the lower rear hem flange. I'd stay clear. That red tank is bashed up pretty bad considering the price the dude wants for it.
