fuel tank liner
12 Nov 2016 17:41
Hi, the genius owner before me lined the tank with Kreem, the lining eroded and gummed up the carbs. My mechanic and I are trying to get the Kreem off the lining, so far 2 days of acetone is not working. Suggestions?

MEK is better than acetone to get the Kreem out, but that doesn't mean it's going to be easy. Dumping some uncoated aquarium rocks in the tank helps scrub down the metal, but they are a pain to get out. Some people use roofing nails or similar but they miss spots. If the MEK just doesn't get it you can try some heavy duty type paint stripper. It's a real pain if it gets to that point but you gotta do what you gotta do.
