You may recall (why ?) I posted about buying 1977 Kawasaki KZ400 Deluxe in July. Now 'Deluxe' is the key as Kawa only imported a few thousand of this model in the USA, fairly rare. Anyway, I think they are cool.

Bike arrived from Colorado and I was aware of some issues but was a bit more severe than represented, tank dented, scratches, fairing an off shade, etc. Rest of bike like new with only 2100 miles.

Hard to tell in these pics that there were any issues -

Found 2 shops that work together in OEM pin-stripping (Canada), paint, tank seal, just fantastic (Indiana). The pin-stripping company did for free as they were able to copy/trace from my parts, a nice savings, and add to their catalog, Diablo Cycles in Calgary, paint done by Precision Paint in Indiana

Sent all off 5 months ago and today - packages! The work is amazing, better than stock, 4 coats clear. Can't think of a better way to spend a weekend :)

Wow, what a great paint job and a clean 77! Im taking the faring, bags, extended exhaust and luggage rack from my 77 cadaver and putting them on my 75 :) So far so good, but instead of the orange/red paint Im going with the blue. Thanks for the great pics of this bike!
