Graphics and pin striping tape ideas? 76 KZ900

I ordered the paint today for my 1976 KZ900 project. I decided to go with black. Since that’s not an original color the graphics aren’t available. Unless someone knows another year that is close that was offered in black? I know some of the LTD’s were, but the shape is different.

I have looked at some of the modern graphic kits, but the Kawasaki emblem is in the way, most go over that area, and I don’t want to get rid of it.

I’m also trying to find a two color striping tape I can shoot clear over. Some of the painters say you can only shoot clear over painted stripes, but my Harley sure does look like tape and it’s cleared over.

I don’t want to leave it plain black, so any ideas on graphics would be welcome. I can’t draw a stick man without a CAD system, so any free hand painting is out.

That’s exactly the graphic I was thinking of, but my tank is a different size and shape, I wonder if it would look right. I would guess the side covers and tail are the same?

Mine is just a standard 900 tank. Those graphics are for an LTD tank. They are a different size and shape; but It might look okay.
But I think I could do the same thing with Red/Grey Duo tone pin striping tape, as long as I can shoot clear over the tape.

These photos show a tank I did. Shot the base coat and a couple layers of clear, then waited a couple of days and rubbed the tank down with gray scotchbrite before applying common peel and stick pinstripe tape. Last step was a couple more layers of clear of course. Easy job, just a little fiddly to get the stripes even from right to left.

That’s a great looking job; I hope my turns out that good. I plan on shooting some clear, putting on tape or graphics and clearing over them. I have never done this, so I’m probably being over cautious

I found this multi-color pin striping. I sent an email to those folks to see if I can shoot clear over it. I'll see what they say.

I had looked at this source before and like the selection.
I plan on buying a roll of the red and grey to tape stripe my belly pan to match the original stripes

Dave, (or anyone else if they know) about how wide is the RED/GREY stipe? 1/2” 1/4”?
I can get two color tape that’s 1/2” (1/4, 1/8/1/8), 1/4" (1/8, 1/16, 1/6) or 3/16" (1/16, 1/16, 1/16)
