What 650 do you have?
From the diagrams at partzilla the 79 B & C fuel tanks appear to be somewhat similar to the 80 F1. and the 78/79 SR coffin tank is similar if not identical to the 80 E1. I think they all use the same rubber damper at the rear. It may be that they all interchange. or not. I don't know. someone at the kz650.info site may know.
