I removed the paint and polished the master cylinder, no more worring about paint coming off.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

I have painted several sets of calipers/MCs with Gun Kote. its a bake on paint that is more similar to ceramic than anything else and is completely impervious to solvent. I never seem to be able to bleed brakes with out dribbling a little brake fluid and NOTHING will eat this paint. I have even shot paint gun cleaner on it to see if it would come off. it is tough stuff.

You can get the paint in a spray can.

Awesome stuff gang thanks! Gun Kote would be way way kewl, but at the moment I can get her back to reliable and good running condition in the next few weeks and be on her for a ride on my birthday in March. If I were to pull apart the brake system to remove and flush everything as well as coat and bake the MC it wouldn't be until April or later that I could be on her. I will likely do this next fall when I put her away again but for now will sand and clean it up while on the bike and spray it back to black again to make it look better for this season and then next fall go all the way through it. This is how it looks right now, was planning on starting the sanding and clean up last night but carb parts came in so I spent most of the time rebuilding those bad boys.
