Vetter quicksilver fairing worth?

Ok I got a 80 ltd 550 that has this huge thing on the front. I look it up and it a better quicksilver windshield. Looks like they still have a nice price on it. Right now I'm trying to find out how to take it off. I got it off the bike frame but I can't separate the windshield from the bracket. The space doesn't give you enough room. So I think I'm going to take off the front tire and slide it off. So mines is kinda beat up with a few cracks in it. Can I still get something for it. If I get enough for handle bars and lights that would be great

ok the pics are crap since there's no room the get a got pic. I will have it off in about an hour. I'm going the remove the front tire and jack the bike up. The bolts are hard the get to like the fairing melted around it or something.

There's a few cracks in it but nothing someone that don't know what there doing couldn't fix. My buddy said it was ugly but on the freeway he had a blast. Rode from Pittsburg to Hayward with no problems. That's 50+ miles.....so it does work lol

Well I said 50 miles cuz here these bikes are not the best for the freeway. I'm not sure I haven't rode it yet. It being a in line I would think it has the power to keep up

I just did 100 miles and the Z1 OWNED the road. The 550 I just sold, I'd have no problem doing the same thing. Good power, six gears, (I don't have six gears :ohmy: ) smooth and nimble, NO PROBLEM. :laugh: Those little crotch rockets sounded like sewing machines. SHT, I rode my 350 Honda with Harleys for CHST sake. Get used to it and you'll see what we mean.

This is the fairing. I had to take the front tire off and man that was fun....then after I'm all done I see this lil bag fall. It's the tool bag that had all the right sizes

Now you have that big sail off the front, it will seem like a different bike.

You think I could get $100 for the condition it's in. Anything helps.... Found a headlight I want off eBay for $22

Here it is the turn signals are built in...

That depends if there is a Reg. making them be a certain distance apart. I'd check first. The fairing with no windshield? $50 maybe.
