Petrol Resistant Paint for Inside Tank was created by Irish Yobbo
I painted my KZ250 tank recently using a petrol resistant paint. However it seems that the primer I used is not resistant - where the paint ends under the fuel cap, the paint is starting to lift as the primer underneith is dissolved.

I'm thinking of removing the flaking paint and covering the filler hole with new paint, so that the primer can't be reached. I can't just use the top-coat, as it won't stick to the metal. Can anybody suggest a paint that I can use for the filler hole to go from the bare metal to the painted seal?

I never paint the filler cap lip -ever. Fumes from the petrol work underneath the paint and soften it. This is bare metal primer, base coat and 2k clear. I just clean it up with wet and dry paper and wipe some oil on it to prevent rusting.

The reason it was painted is that I used a 'plug' in the hole, so the inside lip was still exposed. Removing the paint alltogether up past the lip might be the best idea.

That's a great idea, might remove my paint inside the filler hole and do that.
