Anybody got any idea what temperature and for how long I need to bake my brake calipers to cure the paint?
I sat the can in a bucket of warm water before spraying,so of course the label came off ! and Ive had no reply from the PJ1 website.
( Its PJ1 Satin black.)

Thank you for your inquiry. 16-SAT is able to cure on its own once the engine has been started and brought to 250 degrees Fahrenheit then cooled to room temperature.

After painting my caliper w Duplicolor brake caliper paint, I let the paint cure for a few days (I think it was a few days), then I baked them in the oven at about 150o for about 20 minutes, then raised the temp to 225o for another 20 minutes or so. The paint is tough & has held up well, but brake fluid attacks it --- it's ruined around the bleeder nipple --- not sure if baking at a higher temp would have mattered. doh.

Not really Martin......I believe that brake fluid is one really effective paint stripper......it's what I am using to clean up some emblems that PO painted all black and it's working well.

Thanks. I didn't think the baking temp mattered in that regard, but ya never know sometimes. I use brake fluid to strip emblems as well.
