Lacquer colors and clear are still available at PPG stores in Michigan, and probably in some other states.

To understand all the products available.
But you can spend 2-3 days looking at this site. They have every thing ever made it seems.
We are spraying a 33 Willys A/A nostalgia gasser with the new Camaro snyergy green, paint cost $200 compared to $600 name brand paint. Sorry for the tangent but take a look at some blue.

That '77 blue (Metallic Regal Blue) took 4 different applications to achieve: Special Silver Basecoat; Flake Silver Basecoat; Brigade Blue; and Clear Topcoat. It was the only KZ650 with that many painting steps. Ed

Did not know that...Thanx again Ed, you are a fountain of truth! lOL! In case this comes up again: A fellow member of a KZ specific FB group was kind enough to grab a buddy's original 78 Blue side cover ,take a trip to Sherwin-Williams in his town & scan it for me...They came up with this color formula...He said that the sample is almost perfect in the sun! Thanx all ! am checking that TCP site!

You can do a google search on that BMW color and look at it in pictures and videos. Looks real close for sure to the original Kawasaki.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

5500 internal server error doH! I wanted to upload more, take my word for it, it looked nice when done.

Peugot metallic blue base and 2k clear. Loved the brutish charm of that old GSX1100 ET.

This one I used about 20 coats of clear over the space of a couple of months... no low bake oven so needed to let it harden fully before the next course.

The bike was quite a hooligan bike, hence the pointy tail

Sorry for the Suzuki indulgence - It had to go for more additions to the kawasaki fleet.
