I'm confused...the KZ1300's all had 'tails'...do you mean an earlier style of tail?

Im dealing with the same thing at the moment on my CSRproject. The CSR came with a huge couch of a seat, a regular chrome mudguard and a tail light the size of a small TV. Pig ugly (IMO)
So I bought a fiberglass repro 900/1000 ducktail which comes nowhere near fitting as is.Ive had to slice it down the middle just to get it to fit over the frame.
Next stage is to add in a couple of cm's with fibreglass, then figure out how to position it lengthways.Im also going to need a new seat.Or, maybe Ill make it all one piece.
Either way, fiberglass is very stinky so Im waiting for the weather to improve so I can do it outside.
Ebay ducktail on th standard, unmodified frame

Aint going to fit like this
