Plastic Repair. was created by Zephyrrider
Has anyone used a good plastic repair compound that can be screwed into and holds well.
The tachometer on the Zephyr has a crap plastic thread that holds the back cover on and course it has worn out after 20 careful years. Have tried Quicksteel Plastic Repair but all it did was make a mess although it has been great on other jobs. Screw is 4 mm and a coarse thread (one good thing) - about 1 1/2 mm pitch,
Thanks.

Try auto body repair suppliers. I've used a 2 part epoxy that comes in a tube.
Mixing tubes are sold separately. It's expensive, but comes with a plug to reseal
for future use.

Guys on my riding group tell me that this stuff preformes miricles.
Plastex Rigid Plastic Repair Kits - Click Here
Haven't tried it myself. But did look up some videos on YouTube.
I have tried the LockTite version plastic repair epoxy similair to the PermaOxy. Stuff did not work at all and peals off. I have the PermaOxy but haven't tried that yet. Good luck.

slivers of ABS plastic, ( I shaved off of a disposable putty knife) soaked in Acetone overnight turn ito a pliable gooey ball of Black ABS snot...prep surface and splooge it in....Let dry, drill & tap if necessary...Fixed a broken pin on one of my side covers this way....If they still sell the stuff in Oz, ( not available locally anymore) just use ready made ABS pipe cement for plumbers with a few slivers of ABS in the stripped screw hole.
