Help Identifying this Paint Scheme

I purchased my first Kawasaki, a 1977 kz1000, this weekend. I am the third owner. The title reflects that it is a 1977 kz1000 and the head tube tag correctly identifies it as 12/76 manufactured kz1000. However, upon google image searching, and browsing through various forums, i have yet to find another bike with the same or even similar scheme. I have not seen this three swoop painted tank, with 2 swoops on the sidecovers and tail. The base coat on the rest of the bike is a black metal-flake. The bike is not an LTD and does not have and did not come with mags as far as know, but it most closely resembles some ltds. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.

I'd say that at some point in it's nearly 40 years of life, someone painted it and changed the wheels. ;)

Zedder says '77 KZ1000-A1 came in two color schemes:
Diamond Wine Red;
Diamond Sky Blue.

Pic of bike at hand?

Good Fortune! :)

When '77 KZ1000 first appeared at the local dealership, I still remember one of the owners personally giving a riding demonstration on a freshly un-crated green model with a block-long wheelie in front of the store. :cheer: :laugh: :cheer:

I had similar trouble locating a paint code for mine. I called Kawasaki customer relations and was given the code most rikitik. If all else fails check them out. Colorite has the paint as well. Easyday

The green is an awesome color....I remember a 900 back in 77 I drolled over in green.
