Anyone know if a 81 kz305 tank will fit on a 87 305?? 81 pt no. is 51001...87 pt no. is 51002

I'd say yes.

What you can do is compare the diagram drawings at Kawasaki.com or Partzilla to see how similar they are & if they share anything, such as the mounting dampers. I went ahead & did some checks myself, and the frames & tanks look the same.

Thanks for your help..I found a couple older ones on ebay but need to make sure they will fit my wifes 87 before I order one..
