vance & hines baffle removal

Hey guys quick question...am rattle bombing the inside of my new chrome header...it ocurred to me that it might not be a bad idea to mask/shoot the muffler also...removed 7/16 bolt on back end and smacked it around a little...no movement...don't want to destroy new parts going all "cro magnon" on it, but would it be ok to stick a broomstick in the skinny end of muffler and tap it outthe bel? Anything I am missing?

Yes, adds a layer of insulation.
Ive also had good luck taking older chrome headers that were kind of scuffed up looking, glass beading them and psinting them black.
They hold up better than plain old painted headers.
