Until someone chimes in w an answer... In general, standard model bikes have larger tanks & the Police bikes' might be bigger as well. A couple of fitment problems are that your upper triple may bang against a larger tank & a different tank may have a different method of attachment at the rear. I believe the triple tree on your bike is kinda straight across, whereas on some models the triple is angled forward which givers more clearance for a larger tank. Search eebbaayy for KZ1000 Ltd forks to see what I'm talking about. The 80 Ltd is angled but not the 81.
