Custom Seat Cowl *****finished pics

I was looking for a way to finish up the tail of my KZ1000 since the past owner chopped the frame off. My girl likes to ride so a cafe tail section was out, plus my seat was new. I decided to make a custom seat cowl out of fiberglass that is removable. Please be kind, it's my first time working with fiberglass :)

Here's the bike as it sits now.

(Please excuse the dirty garage, still in the process of moving) Started by layering masking tape over the existing seat. Bought resin and glass mat from Home Depot and just started layering it on. I went a little bigger than the area cause I figured I could trim it later.

Here's after its first trim, sand and primer. After the fiberglass had dried the whole thing slid off pretty easily. I still need to do some shaping but it's coming along. The tail and tank will be getting new paint when it's complete. I'm exploring mounting ideas right now, probably epoxy some sort of bracket underneath or something. It sucks trying to paint anything in Phoenix right now. It's over 100 degrees by 10am and the primer hardens before it even hits the fiberglass haha.

Great job on the cowl sir. How do you attach it when you don't have a passenger?

Haven't quite gotten that far yet.... A little more blocking and it should be good for paint.
