I really love this website, and I don't have much to offer. I am, however, a decent TIG welder and work in a very good metal shop.

I'm guessing about 80% of you can weld and already own a welder, but I thought I should post a general offer to folks here - if you'd like some welding or metal work done, let me know.

I don't want to do any structural stuff, like frames (liability), but I've welded up a stainless sissy bar and I reengineered and built the bracket for the fender in the attached picture.

Wish I could offer more.

Thanks, guys!

I should have mentioned: This isn't much of an offer if it doesn't involve a steep labor discount, which it does. I'll do smaller jobs for free (you pay shipping).

That looks pretty good. Lots of coverage. Definitely done by a dual shield certified structural welder.

This seems like as good a time as any to ask... How doable would it be for someone to make a frame-grip-luggage-rack combo, sorta melding the stock frame grip & a Kawasaki rack into one unit? In the pics you can see where the frame grip attaches to the bike. The luggage rack attaches at the rear mounting points near the turn signals & at the tail light bracket. The custom unit would probably attach the same as the stock frame grip. Or perhaps at 3 points, but others have reported that the tail light takes a beating when a rack is attached to it..

Do you have the two pieces? Welding them would be easy. Bending tube just-so is not at all easy.

If you got two pieces that almost work, and you can contrive a way to cut them up and join them to get what you want, then we can figure this out for sure.

Edit: Chrome near cuts and welds will come back all manner of effed up.
