'82 KZ 550 LTD seat options. was created by DHshredder
Hi everybody,
I was just wondering if anyone had any input or knowledge on what seats are available out there for the '82 550 LTD. I've looked on here without much success and looked on google with the same result, and was wondering if anyone knew of a flatter or more cafe racer style seat that would fit that bike or if I should just customize my current one....

I had the same thoughts several times. My stock seat pan was crappy, so I needed a new one. Made the mistake of buying one off an 84 550 LTD, which had a plastic pan and lower profile - didn't even come close to fitting...
SO, what guys have told me here and I've toyed with a little bit...just shave yours down. They say if can be done with a knife. I didn't have much luck with mine and it looked bad. I ended up just buying a new pan/seat on ebay. Would like to still have something more cafe style though.

Yeah, I had thought about that too and I have a friend who knows a guy who does interiors and could shave it down and upholster it in nice cross-stitched leather or something like that which I might end up doing. Figured I should ask and see if anyone knew of some aftermarket seats though.
