Does anybody know how to determine how many different OEM fuel tanks Kawasaki made to fit a given frame?

A limitation with using kawasaki.com is that otherwise identical parts except for the color will have different part numbers.

I'm working on a 1982 KZ1100 Spectre. It uses the same tank as the KZ1100 Shaft but I was hoping for more capacity without having to build a custom tank.
