kz1000 and kz1000P bodywork
26 Jun 2006 06:29
Would the tank and seat from an 82 kz1000P fit on an 82 kz1000 CSR?
How much do the bodywork for these bikes overlap? And while on the subject, what about the engine crash bar?
Thanks ya'll

The tank should be a one-up fit.
The seat will fit, but the rear attach points for the solo seat might need fabbed. On the earlier C models, the rear seat attachment was via a set of small shocks that bolted to standard tabs on the frame. Very cushy arrangement. The early Ps went to a hard mount, which lowered the seat about 1".
The crash bar will fit also. The lower mount tabs go to the front motor mount - no problem there. The upper mount tabs may need to be fabbed, but it's no big deal.
You could also check out the Yahoo KZ1000P forum, there's quite a few folks over there more versed in Ps than I am...
