Getting some new rev counter and speedo decals from Reproduction Decals in Canada to replace the faded ones on my '78 Z1-R (Australian Model). Anyone had experience with removal of the "old" decals - what is the best method - mechanical/chemical? any chemicals to use or NOT use? Thanks.

i thought the originals were not a decal.

in which case you would just clean the gauge faces with some acetone or similar and apply the decals.

You're right - originals were screen printed onto the face plate. Attached is some info on preparing the faces, provided by Reproduction Decals in Canada, for anyone's info.
