I am in the process of changing out my handlebars on my 1981 KZ440 and the bars are too short for the large front master cylinder.
Are there any other alternatives that you can do or any other smaller master cylinders that you can use?

I have seen some nice aftermarket levers with a more modern style remote reservoir that clears up that problem and makes adjusting fluid levels much easier. Of course, you will probably end up replacing the clutch lever to match...

Get longer bars. I've seen superbike bars ranging from 27" to 32".

Could you recommend one specific that would work? I am a newbie and I thought that this would be an easy swap. The bars are 28".

usa-motorcycles-inc on ebbaayy sells new aftermarket Fr Br master cylinders. Find one that's for a single disk - I think those are 12.5mm. A 14mm might be suitable as well. Most have a mirror orifice & note the mount angle. The stock mc mount is usually angled on Ltd models. Flatter bars would need a more level mount.
