New z1 tank emblems was created by marcuch
I bought a pair of new after market fuel tank emblems or badges a while ago and haven't installed them because of the way they fit. Most if not all the after market (Chinese) tank emblems I've seen for my 75 Z1-B are perfectly flat. When you install them the leading edge and the tailing edge don't conform to the curve of the tank even when the mounting screws are tight. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I'd use the old emblems but some of the chrome has been screwed up.

Are they aluminum or plastic?

They will bend - what I did on my own set, wrap them in a cloth and put them in my vise with the jaws nearly closed on the emblem, and gradually work down the length to shape them to the contour of the tank.

I wonder if there are 2 different manufactures for our name plates? Is there 1 Japanese and or 1 Chinese products out there? Does anyone know? I've never seen plastic tank badges before. Plastic side cover badges were stock up to 78? or maybe 1980? Does anyone have info on this?
