Motor Head wrote: If there is that much difference, I would turn down the weight. that way they can be used on another set of bars, if they also are the same ID. If you ream the bars, then then weights will fit those at least. If you change bars then you may well have to ream them also.
So try to shave down the rubber and aluminum of the weights? I imagine I'd need a lathe for that and I don't have one.

If the source carries both sizes, possibly the wrong size was furnished.

The package says they are for 7/8" bars.
Tri, I'm not worried about the time or difficulty here but I don't have a bit that'll do the job. Need to go to the hardware store (an hour and a half drive round trip) and find something that'll work.

Topper wrote: So there's about a 2mm difference in the inner dimension of my bars and the outer dimension of the weights. I guess I'm going to have to drill out the bars if I want to use these.
Am thinking standard 7/8" steel motorcycle handlebar would have an inside diameter of about 23/32" or 18.256mm (some thinner-walled versions having a slightly larger inside diameter).
7/8" aluminum handlebar would have an inside diameter of about 9/16" or 14.29mm.
What's the inside diameter of the handlebar?
What's the outside diameter of the end-weights?
Good Fortune!

The hardware store had a sort of grinder to go on my drill that did the trick. It looked like a little mace on a drill bit shaft.
That plus some gentle encouragement with a rubber mallet got them mounted.
Thanks for the help guys.
