You can see the smog ports on head around valve cover,the stator/generator was what gave it away to me0Z.Z1R Mk2 wrote:

Bill...the thing that throws me off of it as being a MK2 engine is the round top cam covers. :S
But they can be adapted to fit.

That looks like quite a tidy set of headers/muffler on your VERY nice MKII - what brand is it and where did it come from? I have the original set but some F'wit has sawn off the pipes which are normally part of the collector box, and I'm not sure if I can resurrect the original system. Maybe can get a clever bloke with a MIG welder to fix it up and get the pipes re-chromed. Can get a replica muffler for around $500-00, so might be an option?

a near exact modern paint replica was used by Chrysler corperation early 80's paint store will have some samples pretty popular on the K car
