I want to repaint the engine on my 1981 KZ1000 black but i want the silver/chrome crank covers and then have the head fins silver anybody have any idea where to get the covers cause mine are a splotchy grey&black color and what paint to use????
1981 KZ100J Maroon
V&H header with 45 degree turn out for exhaust
Fairing, quater fender and saddle bag removed
Repainted side covers black
repainted frame black
NGK spark plugs
Runs but not driven yet

1993 GMC Suburban 4x4
straight piped accel ignition
cutsom intake
visor
mudflaps
undercoating...

Many owners do the polishing themselves. And there are many threads here on KZrider with helpful suggestions, information and techniques.

Others prefer employing a professional such as KZrider member o.c.f.rider:

Okay i will have to look into that i got a custom exhaust thats a V&H header into a 45degree turnout its gonna be all black and the repainted engine will look very nice against the exhaust and newly painted frame
