Need seat ideas for Z1
13 Jul 2012 11:18
I am looking for a new seat. Either have one built or buy one.Not to keen on the gunfighter and don't want a stock seat or flat seat either. I am also concerned that the seat I baoght on ebay may be the wrong pan. The seatcomes short of the tail section leaving a 1 inch gap. This drives me nuts  Any and most suggestions are welcome as well as price ranges or recommended craftsman. Thanks

That isn't a copy of the stock seat, is it Les? Is that the seat you have on your bike? Thanks

I am not sure my seat has the right pan, seems short. Also finding someone local to do the work is tough so I would be doing a lot of shipping! What kind of $$'s do you think that route would run? Thanks

I may be interested in doing one in leather, I'm going to have a couple done similar to this to tighten the fit up on the tail section. Leather may be a viable option.

Re: Need seat ideas for Z1
13 Jul 2012 14:26 - 13 Jul 2012 15:01I like the looks of this style seat on more custom z1's. They've been sold by a few different companies in the past.
2:4 was one, and Giuliari another - this specific one is the Giuliari version

I am surviving...
I'd like to sell these seats - but I haven't found anyone making them at a reasonable price yet. The last time I searched for a seat manufacturer, I ended up talking to a guy in S. Vietnam... I saw a couple of samples of his seats for other bikes at mid-ohio last year - Randy Marble (Marbles Motors) was selling some for little Honda SL50's and SL70's - not bad, but, you wonder about ongoing quality and supply.
