ok so I have never even seen a z1 tank in real life so I am attempting to replicate
the stripes on a project and i need some measurements

Attachment 75kawZ1Bmontana.jpg not found

Attachment z11.JPG not found

Attachment z12.JPG not found

measuring from the filler neck down the side I need the distance
to the white stripe the width of the white stripe &
the width of the blck stripe at that loation moving stright down
the distance between the bottom of the top white stripe to the top of the
bottom white stripe and the width of the gold stripe and the distance between the gold
and bottom white stripe

Any help would be greatly appreciated I just want to be as close as possible
I know it will be a little off but vlose would be great

The width and length of the tail stipe would be cool if someone has that

I applied a piece of painters tape and made little marks for location, removed the tape and measured. It's obviously in inches, but I think the white stripes are 5.5mm and 7mm if you want to go crazy about it.

From the filler neck down, goes like this:

3 3/8 color

1/4 white

1 11/16 black

1/4 white

3 5/8 color

3/8 white

1/8 color

1 1/4 gold

rest color

Originally, the white is tape and the gold is paint. My tank is original besides the blue that I repainted. The stripes and locations are original.

I didn't remove the emblem so the section of blue around the emblem 'may' be a hair wide. If you install an emblem and run a piece of tape like I did with those measurements it will be right on. The main thing is the bottom stripes are parallel to the bottom of the tank. Then you can kind of eyeball the black.

Also, where the 2 white stripes and the black end in the front of the tank it's pretty much a straight line like: \ Hard to tell from my pics.

I just received a tail and side covers from Z1 parts.net The quality seems superb.
I have a 5 gal tank that I use when I am working on my bike (so I dont Scratch
my good stuff) Scuffed it up last night to see how much body work was needed and with
the exception of the scratches I put on it the previous emblem shaving job was done well

will scuff these and hopefully be ready to paint next week
not gonna get a chance nephews birthday is Tuesday gotta
get his pocket bike painted
