Picked up a 1000 thinking of building a bobber
10 Jun 2012 08:56
Picked up this cheap 1000. I want to make it unique and I really like the bobber look. Im thinking about cutting the back of the frame off so I can really lower it. Maybe do some flat black paint? Going to put some slash cut pipes on it too.

It's your bike and you can do what you want but that is a very nice bike and worth some bucks.

I have an old Harley Hog wheel with a squared off Avon tire that will look good on it too
and a wrought iron twisted sissy bar with a 12" dagger welded on to it.
That could be the finishing touch!
And after you flat black it out. My Mom left me some dollies from the old Dining room,
hold them on side of tank and spray white paint over them. Yea! dollie Lace paint job

I have some really nice heat wrap tape for your exhaust that I will trade you straight up for all of your bodywork including the seat, tank, and fenders. You won't be needing that stuff, I mean, you'll be getting a bicycle seat and a teardrop tank, right?
It wouldn't look right if you didn't!

Great idea! My uncle Enzo left me the car below in his will. I'm going to cut the body off it and make a dune buggy. Does anyone know where I can buy some raccoon tails? I want to attach them to some really tall antennae so everyone can see how smart I am.

Flat black looks best when sprayed all over everything to give a consistent look.
(And which is easy to touch up. Could use ed's raccoon tail for a paintbrush.)
This won't take long at all.
So we expect progress pics within the next few minutes.
If not mostly wiped off headlight lens and taillight lens before drying, may use a single edge razor blade which works pretty good.

After the conversion, it would look extra nice leaned against the fence at the Gringo's place.

Don't forget the tassels on the ends of the handlebar grips, adds charm to it! OH, and the kitchen doily, had an uncle do that to a 550 honda years ago, black and yellow paint, I kept my mouth shut on that call.
