Looking for a recommended paint/KREEM remover was created by Bad Kaw
Hi guys, I'm going to remove the KREEM from my fuel tank; anybody every used any service out there? I'm not looking to do it myself. I'm looking for a service that might do something like a chemical dip. I had found a place a couple years back, but that was one-crashed-computer ago and I have lost his information. If they have to strip the paint to get the KREEM out, I'm fine with that, too.
Thanks!

Acetone should do it. & you can do that yourself. Just be carefull with the paint.

I wonder if a radiator shop could get it out for ya?

Some big cities have Chem-Strip or Ready-Strip locations, Metro Detroit has Internatinal Stripping Co. All are chemical dipping ....strips inside and out.

Hi Mate,
I don`t think you will get all of the coat of the winkles from your tank. You should better look for another one derust and protect it with acids. Never trusted the Kreem procedure. It`s just coating stuff over material without healing it itself.

That seems to be a regional service...around here (SE Texas) none of the radiator shops will dip a tank. Elsewhere, others have had better luck working with their local shops.
I have also heard that acetone will remove tank liners...in addition to MEK...wear gloves and work outside...both those chemicals are rather nasty.

Ive also heard kreem will "Mix" with octane Boost if u put that in ur tank... No to sure if true..
I used Kreem on my 74'z1.. before using it used gas with nuts an bolts shook it up for awhile an then when i used the kreem the acid worked very well.. an then the coat over it made it perfect... but I hear both ways with kreem
its a easy 30$ fix but possible temporary?
