or misplaced it rather. So my question is, if I go to a locksmith, do I need to take my ignition switch for them to make a key, or can I take the helmet lock or seat lock?

I think your lock has a number on it. It's a three-digit number, and a locksmith may be able to make a key to match it.
I had spares made by a locksmith I found on-line. I just emailed my key number, and he mailed me a pair of keys. I cost something like $3.00 per key, including shipping.
I don't put my KZ key on my keyring, because I don't want all my keys jangling around, scratching up the panel. So I put a leather thong on my KZ key. Makes it easier to find.

Do you remember the site for that locksmith? I'll look for the numbers. I brought the key inside (I had it sitting in the ignition as the bike is in pieces) with the purpose of putting it on its own key ring. :pinch:

Search the archives for keys. Lots of online offers.
I went back to my old emails... the guy I used charged $25 for the first key, and $5 for the second key for a total of $30. Sorry, I should have checked the price before I posted.
His email is AutoLock@aol.com.
Here's another link for keys... looks like the cost is about $8 each.

Good Luck.

The cotton thong may work better... I may need a spare sometime, what with LA traffic and all.

1974 900 Z1 modified to look like a LTD , some engine mods. But I still have all the original parts.
1977 1000 project bike
1972 H1 project bike
If pro is opposite of con, then what is the opposite of progress?
