I use Aircraft Paint Stripper. You can buy it at local auto parts store. You spray it one and let it sit for 15 mins then wash it off with water. Stubborn spots spray it on and scrubb it off with a stiff brush.
(I posted a link to it, but it doesn't show. I guess I don't have enough posts?)

I think that Sodablasting would be good idea. I stripped paint off from my carbs using that method.
I'm also going to sodablast my KZ500 engine.

Will you leave it raw aluminum? I'd be worried about discoloring myself.. As awesome as polishing would be it would be ridiculously labor intensive. I would probably hit it with silver paint to keep it bright but protected (like is stock on mine).

well im thinking when i tear it all down and do the gaskets and rings im gonna strip it all down and sod blast it to bring out the shine then use a VHT HIGH HEAT gloss clear or VHT High Heat Anodized blue or base silver with a clear
im gonna do a blue and yellow color scheme on the tins and prolly a blue and yellow led kit. ( still undecided on the leds) so if i make the engine shine the leds wil glow nicely. dunno if plue paint and a blue anodized case will look right though. i may just do the aluminum case with a clear gloss and blue anodized accents
maybe an extreme high heat paint for the exhaust like flat black or yellow. yellow headers with a flat black muffler or vise versa
thinking about all these paint options
