this may work, but what if u take the kick start lever and dip it in that tool handle coating you can buy. you can get it in different colors and when it dries you get a nice rubber like coating.

Hopefully you found a solution for this, but if not Ive got a couple of the stock tank bumpers - if we get out and ride in Chicago I'll bring them for you.

I have a roll of clear tape that can be used to protect book covers or shelves etc. Quite thick and very sturdy. I use it on the fuel tank where it meets the seat to prevent paint rubbing. Should work fine with your issue as well.

I like faffi's idea. Thats what I would do. Touch up paint and protect it with clear tape. Kinda like clear bug guard on some car front ends

awesome bike!

I have a couple ideas may or may not work was just thinking what I might try
tape the frame off and scuff(in between the scratches) it up and try some Flex seal rubber spray havent sean how it dries but worth checking out. at least it will look deliberate or possibly spray bedliner in the rattle can from walmart is also a thought

I had an idea to fix it using a rubber matting material that i had at my last job. it was sort of like the liner used for water barries under bath tubs. it was black and would have worked great, but i called a former co-worker to see if he could pick some up for me, but the plant is closing and it was already gone.

If only i could find some of that matting for bathtubs in black.

Heat up the kickstarter and offset it a little bit away from the frame ,kind of like a box offset in a piece of conduit. B)

not a good picture but it gives you an idea anyway, just make sure bends cancel each other out so it comes out straight B)

If I had the tools/equipment to do that, I would have already. I appreciate the input though.

I actually live in a condo building, so I dont have a garage of my own. So, no place to do any real work on the bike myself. I guess that I should have thought of that before I purchased an old bike.

Figure out where it needs to be bent, pull it off and take it to the corner garage and have them heat/bend it in a vice for ya for $20 B)
