Hi wishing to find out if Gpz 550 Headlight fairing will fit the kz 750 L 1983. It would be nice to grab it up for good price. Thanks in advance.

Here is a terrible answer...yes and no. The opening for the rectangular headlight is close to the correct size on the 550 fairing to fit your motorcycle. Conversely, the 750/1100 fairing (the 1982 GPz750 and 1982 GPz1100 use the same fairing and mounts) opening is slightly larger and is the correct fairing (size-wise) for your bike. The differences between the 550 fairing and the 750/1100 fairing are ones of proportion (the 550 is a smaller motorcycle)...the overall size/shape of the 550 fairing allows it to be completely nested within the 750/1100 fairing. The mounting brackets (if they come with a 550 fairing) are designed for a motorcycle that is proportionally smaller than the 750L and as such, are shaped differently than the 750/1100 mounts. You will have to fabricate a mounting system for your L model (which didn't come stock with mounting brackets). That said, I have seen 550 fairings mounted on 1100's so it can be done, but mount fabrication is required.
